Housing Assistance

Housing Assistance

A Stable Home Is the First Step Toward a Stable Life

It’s nearly impossible to rebuild your life when you don’t have a safe, stable place to call home.
At In The Gap Academy, we offer comprehensive Housing Assistance to help clients navigate one of the biggest barriers to recovery, reentry, and long-term success: finding and keeping housing that supports their healing.
We understand that for many of our clients — especially those exiting incarceration, treatment, or long-term instability — housing isn’t just hard to find. It feels impossible. That’s why we don’t just refer people to shelters or send them off with lists. We walk with them, step by step, to help them secure housing that meets their real needs.
Because recovery doesn’t stick when someone is sleeping in their car. Because progress can’t happen when someone’s one missed payment away from the street. Because housing is healthcare. Housing is dignity. Housing is freedom.

What We Provide

We help clients find housing that fits their budget, needs, and location — from transitional housing to private rentals or partner programs. Our team provides:

One of the biggest barriers to housing is paperwork. We help clients gather and secure:

Housing Navigation Coaching

We don’t just help people move in — we help them stay housed. That includes:
We turn “I don’t know where to start” into “I’m moving in next week.”
Why This Program Works

Why This Program Works

We remove shame from the housing search

Clients don’t need to prove they’re worthy of help. They’re already worthy — we just help them take the next step.

We don’t give up when the first door closes

Our staff know the housing system — and the workarounds. We advocate fiercely for our clients.

We recognize housing is a clinical issue

Unstable housing leads to relapse, missed appointments, and recidivism. We treat housing support as part of the treatment plan.

We integrate housing into the whole-person care model

Clients getting housing support also get life skills coaching, employment readiness, and mental health care — so they don’t just move in, they move forward.

Why Providers Refer to ITG

5–6 hours per day, 5 days per week of structured therapeutic services, including:

Clear intake process and housing eligibility coordination

Strong communication with case managers, probation, parole, and family court

High retention in care once housing needs are stabilized

Respectful, culturally responsive support

A network of partners for transitional and independent living options

We build each client’s treatment plan based on their needs — not a template.

Let’s Take the First Step Together

Most clients who come to us have tried other programs — and left feeling judged, dismissed, or stuck. What makes ITG Academy different is that we don’t just treat the symptoms. We treat the systemic barriers holding people back.
You don’t have to do this alone. And you don’t have to settle for less. ITG Academy offers treatment that transforms — because we treat the whole person.
