Recovery isn’t always a straight line. And it doesn’t always require a hospital bed or 40-hour treatment weeks. At In The Gap Academy, our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) gives you the structured support and accountability you need — without disconnecting you from your responsibilities, family, or community.
We created this program for people who still want to work, parent, show up to court, or attend school — but who also need something more substantial than traditional outpatient therapy. Our IOP combines evidence-based treatment, peer mentorship, emotional regulation work, and real-world life planning in one integrated track.
This isn’t recovery that just “keeps you clean.” It’s recovery that gets you moving forward.
We see it all the time: people dismissed as “non-compliant” or “not ready” when in reality, they just haven’t had access to a program that actually fits their life.
Our IOP is ideal for:
People who’ve tried therapy or 12-step programs but need more structure, more support, and more tools
Clients stepping down from inpatient or PHP, ready to rebuild routines
Individuals balancing work, court mandates, and family responsibilities
Returning citizens who need more than check-ins — they need a plan
Adolescents and young adults showing early signs of habitual use or legal involvement
Anyone who’s serious about changing their life — but doesn’t want to be lectured or labeled
It’s Built Around Real Life. Most clients can’t pause their life for treatment. Our IOP provides at least 9 hours of care each week, split across 3–5 days, including group therapy, individual counseling, and case management. We offer both daytime and evening options, plus hybrid virtual/in-person access where needed.
It Treats More Than Symptoms. We don’t just focus on “not using.” We work on the underlying issues that fuel cycles of substance use — trauma, emotional pain, reentry barriers, family dysfunction, self-doubt, and instability.
It Puts Respect First. Clients are not punished for struggling — they’re supported in understanding what went wrong and how to pivot. Our model is rooted in compassionate accountability, not compliance-based punishment.
It Includes Wraparound Support. Many programs stop at therapy. Ours includes:
Peer mentorship from people with lived experience
Anger management and emotional skills groups
Transportation help, housing referrals, and document recovery
Job readiness and soft skills development
Court reporting and documentation for referrals
It Works for the Long-Term. We build discharge and transition plans from day one — not the day before you leave. We don’t want you to complete a program. We want you to build a life.
We combine clinical strength with cultural relevance, helping clients feel safe, supported, and capable of lasting change.
Group Therapy
Learn how to manage triggers, regulate emotions, make decisions under pressure, rebuild self-esteem, and break cycles of avoidance or aggression.
Individual Counseling
Unpack the deeper issues beneath your substance use: grief, anxiety, fear, trauma, shame. Set goals and take ownership — at your pace, with your voice.
Peer Support
Build trust with mentors who’ve been where you are and now walk beside you. Our peer leaders are trained, authentic, and empowering — not preachy or punitive.
Life Stabilization Services
We help you apply for jobs, show up to court, get your ID, navigate housing, and develop real-world life skills. This is how recovery turns into independence.
At ITG Academy, our IOP clients don’t just graduate — they evolve.
From missed appointments to consistent engagement
From couch-surfing to transitional housing
From court mandates to completed programs and clean records
From reactive outbursts to emotional regulation and boundary setting
From joblessness to confidence, resumes, and interviews
From hopelessness to a plan that actually makes sense
If you’re a provider, case manager, or probation officer, you’ll see a difference in how our clients show up, not just in how they check boxes.

We customize treatment to the client — not the other way around.
Most clients who come to us have tried other programs — and left feeling judged, dismissed, or stuck. What makes ITG Academy different is that we don’t just treat the symptoms. We treat the systemic barriers holding people back.
You don’t have to do this alone. And you don’t have to settle for less. ITG Academy offers treatment that transforms — because we treat the whole person.
